One of the main tasks in the quarry industry is moving around the quarry site. With its ability to lift heavy loads as well as drilling and jack-hammering the excavator is a versatile piece of equipment.
If you need to dig deep trenches, drill, and jackhammer you will want to choose an excavator. Excavators come in four sizes, mini or compact, midi, standard and large.
When you're choosing an excavator, you will need to consider the following factors:
• How much material do you need to move and how quickly?
• How deep do you need to dig?
• The size of the site where you're going to be using the excavator. You'll need room to maneuver and load/unload the equipment.
• The weight of the material you are moving. If you're moving large pieces of rock, you'll need a larger excavator capable of heavy loads.
• How you'll get the excavator to and from your site.
• Will you need a counterweight? The lifting capacity of the excavator may also require a counterweight to maximize the lifting capacity safely.
• Will you need hydraulic attachments? Make sure that the excavator you choose has the required attachments available.
